MOMENTUM research at Betweter Festival

MOMENTUM researcher Nienke Vrisekoop from UMC Utrecht performed at the recent Betweter Festival in Utrecht! Nienke talked about microplastics and what we know about their impact on our health. She explained what microplastics are, how their size and type determine whether they can kill immune cells, and what kind of health effects we can expect from microplastics.

Nienke looks back on the festival with great pleasure: “It was a fantastic experience to be able to present our research into the health effects of microplastics to the audience at the Betweter Festival.”

The Betweter Festival is organised annually by Utrecht University and aims to bring researchers, artist, and visitors together in a casual festival setting to think about the world of tomorrow and the big questions of today.
