Scientists find bottled water teeming with nanoplastics

Bottled water has been found to contain hundreds of thousands of tiny particles of plastic that have not previously been counted, raising questions over the impact on human health. In a new study, US scientists have discovered that on average 240,000 very small plastic particles – known as nanoplastics – are found in every liter of bottled water they tested. It is unclear if people should stop drinking bottled water due to the new study, because the health effects of nanoplastics are still unknown.
