Young MOMENTUM researchers clean up plastic waste

Young researchers in search of knowledge and plastic in Amsterdam

Early stage researchers from the MOMENTUM project came together in Amsterdam yesterday for a fun and educational programme, organised by Annemijne van den Berg, Jildou Dijkstra, and Peiyan Qin.

In the morning, the participants attended a workshop on navigating academic relationships by Mariska Rol from Downsideup. They learned how to deal with feedback and cultural differences and how to set boundaries in interactions with supervisors.

Afterwards, the young researchers set sail on the Amsterdam canals to clean up plastic waste together with Plastic Whale.

Great to see the enthusiasm of our early stage researchers and to know that the future of microplastics research is in capable hands!
