Agenda
Dutch Society of Toxicology Annual meeting
The theme of this year will be “Tox to the Future: A Journey Through Toxicology’s Evolution”.
Embark on a journey through the evolution of toxicology, starting from its inception with one focused goal: enhancing and protecting human and environmental health.
The widespread availability of data, emergence of artificial intelligence, and changing public perceptions have once again rekindled the debate on replacement of in vivo animal experiments with in silico and in vitro New Approach Methodologies. Review the transformation of experimental models, progressing from basic two-dimensional systems to sophisticated three-dimensional organoids and (multiple) organ-on-a-chip models. Moreover, the surge in computational power has ignited the use of complex modeling for intricate biological phenomena.
As we convene for the anniversary edition of the annual Nederlandse Vereniging voor Toxicology (NVT) meeting, we delve into this field’s history and explore its future. What lessons does the past offer? Are all changes improvements, and what lies in our near future? The overarching question beckons: Do we need an entirely new toxicology framework, or should we seamlessly integrate these innovations into the existing one? Join us in our quest to go back to the future, navigating the past and present to illuminate the path forward.
